30th Birthday Half Marathon
Running is a passion of mine. Initially it was a challenge to see IF I could run consistently. But then it became a part of my workout routine. Thanks to my dear friend, Nura Goodson, who started Muslimahs Endure. All of my races were possible because of my run family.
When I decided to run a half marathon for my 30th birthday, I had an outfit in mind, but could not find it in any store.
I asked one of my designer friends if she could make my race dress and it was perfect!
After the race, I received many compliments and whenever I wore my dress, I was asked where I got it from.
I knew I was on to something.
Fashion
I started doing fashion shows in high school and still able to model for muslim designers today. I was given the opportunity to be the Model Coordinator and choreograph for the Sealed Nectar Fashion Show, ran by my friend and travel buddy, Naimah Abdullah Wells. Modeling Modest Fashion with my muslim sisters and being a part of such a wealthy, nurturing industry is a blessing. I've made great connections over the years. Through SNFS I connected with an Indonesian designer, Indriya Dani, who assisted me in getting my line off the ground.
